It was not a new idea. It was just a ‘80s trend comeback. The 2008 summer was; however, a bit more inclined. But neither the Batgirl, nor the Supergirl was the generator of the trend; the idea was capable of becoming one of the most ubiquitous fashion trends on its own. There were bifurcations, though; one was trans-seasonal while the other was a new outlook towards tights and stockings. The chief thought behind had been turning an accessory to a feature piece following the ripped stockings trend. But, it’s tough looking attractive in lingerie than appearing cheap, so the safest had been thought of in the forms of suspenders, stay-ups, camisoles and slips. The trend made many lingerie companies jump into the bandwagon of creating tasteful undergarments tactfully; the results were lingerie that were gorgeous enough to be worn on the outside, with professional models like Mila Jovovich and Carmen Hawk giving the trend an interesting twist. It was creating garments in the boudoir style.

The stay-ups and suspenders have long stood as the most risqué of intimate apparels but they are also the most difficult to pull off. But the new, patterned stockings and tights brought women an immense array of choices. The snake stay-ups were just one of them and so was the vintage designs. Overall, they were great dresses that can be worn on a regular basis without losing that sensual feel.

Since then, the Jovovich-Hawk clothing line has captured a big chunk of any luxury lingerie discussion, the significance making the trend continue in niche circles till now.
